In Brazil, almost 10 million individual microentrepreneurs – MEIs – are prevented from exercising their work activities due to the Coronavirus Covid-19.
It was thinking about the importance of these entrepreneurs that IRES – Institute for Social and Environmental Responsibility and ADVB – Association of Sales and Marketing Managers in Brazil, in a creative partnership with Gorilla Communication, developed the aMEI Project.
The aMEI Project consists of solidarity actions on behalf of the MEIs, which aims to raise financial resources from civil society, through individuals and legal entities for a Solidarity Fund.
The main function of the aMEI Project is the administration of donations and the distribution of values to assisted MEIs. All donations will be transformed into vouchers in the amount of R$ 100,00 each, the aMEIvoucher, an electronic currency that the assisted MEI can exchange for food and essential products in accredited establishments.
The aMEIvoucher cannot be withdrawn in local currency, it only serves as a means of digital payment on the Platform’s Accredited Network.
In its first phase, the aMEI Project will prorize registered MEIs resident in Greater São Paulo, the epicenter of the epidemic, starting in a second phase for the State of Sao Paulo.
